About
Hi, I'm the weaver behind Fabrik.

Timothy Steward
Fabrik is a personal blog for sharing articles or notes on technology.
Most of my writings are about security or databases (especially PostgreSQL).
The name Fabrik is something I came up with during the summer of 2015 while interviewing for a new position and asking questions about the companies environment. I quickly realized that within the companies they didn't know what tech was being used or how to weave it all together, but yet they constantly added new tech, and of course I didn't end up working there.
You're welcome to leave a comment on any post. They appear instantly, and the only rule is be kind.

How I started in technology
For my start in IT and especially down the path of becoming an Oracle Database Administrator, I owe a special thanks to my two mentors who started me on my way. Peter Wahl, and Paul Hoyte you believed in me at a time in my life when I was searching for answers. The lessons you taught me on life, Oracle and the business of IT were invaluable, for this I am truly grateful. The memories of ALA/Lason Systems and the sword of Sharidionne is forever with me.
My mentors started me out on Oracle version 2 of the database, which is a story for those who know. You may say Oracle was my first love.
For centuries, the sword has represented the values that contribute to success – quality workmanship and strength. Like the sword, these values are the foundation of the corporate philosophies of our company.
